About the blog Experiencing Jesus personally

This blog is born of a recent breakthrough in my relationship with Jesus. Now I often see Him with the eyes of my spirit when I pray, hear from Him more easily and can feel more relaxed in His presence, being able to talk through everything with Him as with a Friend. There have been glimpses of similar experiences in my past already, some of which I have also shared in this blog. I hope to encourage some of you to enter relationship with Jesus, and for those who have it, encourage to deepen it even more and get closer to Him. I want to give a glimpse, through my own experience, of what is available in Him. I hope that you will be encouraged to know that Jesus meets us where we are and if we persist in seeking Him, brings breakthroughs about.
In this blog I present some stories coming from different periods of my life and more will be added at the pace possible with my everyday rhythm. These stories have one thing in common: Jesus reaching out to me and letting me experience Him in somewhat tangible ways. As I shared my last experiences with some friends, quite common responses I got were: “What did you DO to make it happen? I also finally want to experience God for real!” In response to that, I can say that I have been searching God seriously for many years, through Bible study, prayer, Christian meetings and service, trying to honor Him with my life choices, and more; however, I believe it is mostly His grace and love reaching out to me. He would meet anyone who hungers for Him and is open to meet Him in a special way. It may not be the same way for everyone; however, I have found that listening to testimonies also increase faith and expectations for encountering Jesus and then it is more likely to happen.
I will share, among other things, some visions and hearing the voice of God and Jesus clearly. I want to notify here that these happen in the realm of the spirit, I see and hear with the eyes and ears of my spirit, mostly with my eyes closed and not hearing audible voice. This again, may be different for other people. However, the reality and impact of that is much stronger and more memorable than many things I have seen with my eyes. This also often took me by surprise and I can distinguish such experiences as different from imaginations of wishful thinking. The fragrances that I sensed in presence of God, however, were tangible in my sensory experience.
Probably some of you may think that we need to be based on the word of God, not personal experiences which can be subjective or misleading. Here I can say that I also study the Bible many years, and the experiences that I have do not contradict the Bible and what some people in the Bible have experienced. There is difference between learning and knowing about Jesus and knowing and experiencing Him as a Person. At times when studying the Bible and participating in the church, or even serving, it can be so that we know a lot about Him, but still do not know Him personally very well. The experiences with Jesus gave me opportunity to get to know Him personally, to have a personal relationship with Him. I believe that we need reverence and we need to worship Him, still, Jesus can also be our Friend. We need to be relaxed enough in His presence to be able to talk with Him about anything that concerns us and to be real. We need to know that He accepts us before we can come to Him as we are. The disciples of Jesus experienced Him like that. They also worshiped and fell on their knees at times, but often they were just having a meal together and having a normal conversation. And He can be with us in similar ways, through His Holy Spirit that He has sent into our hearts.
